XOCEAN expands into Australia
Endeavor Entrepreneur James Ives and the team at XOCEAN have announced their exciting expansion into Australia. This remarkable achievement marks a new chapter in their journey of innovation and global impact.
Following a successful €30 million funding round, aimed at accelerating international growth and advancing technical innovation, XOCEAN has established a new technical center in Melbourne. This expansion reflects their ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in seabed mapping and data collection.
Founded in 2017 by James Ives and headquartered in County Louth, XOCEAN is at the forefront of transforming how we map and collect data from the seabed. XOCEAN uses Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) that provide turnkey ocean data, from mapping seabeds to environmental monitoring. Their pioneering use of low-impact robotics not only enhances safety for seafarers but also significantly reduces emissions—achieving levels that are 1,000 times lower than traditional methods. This innovation represents a major step forward in the drive for sustainability. James has been an Endeavor Entrepreneur since 2021, and has been the embodiment of Endeavor’s ‘pay it forward’ ethos, by giving freely with his time and advice to other Entrepreneurs within Endeavors global network.
Endeavor Ireland is incredibly proud to support entrepreneurs like James Ives, whose vision and innovation are changing the world for the better. XOCEAN’s journey from a startup in Co. Louth to a global leader in ocean data services is a testament to the power of entrepreneurship and the impact it can have on a global scale.
Endeavor Ireland are excited to support XOCEAN’s continued success and growing impact in Australia and beyond.
